One of the coolest meusems I have ever been to. The entry is free. It takes one hour. You will be blown away if you want to see a glimpse into the 1930 - 1960s. The building is a timecapsel and home to the world's greatest archive of Chinese medicine.

Definitely underrated. No doubt this place is worth stopping to check out! The history here is amazing and would've been completely forgotten without this exhibit.

absolutely must stop here. fascinating history of Chinese Americans

Found this to be a high light of our trip to Eastern OR. Leaned a lot about the Chinese history in the United States. This building and the men who started their business and medical practice is beyond fascinating. It is a ONE IF A KIND IN THE WORLD! The state of OREGON HAS INVESTED A MILLION DILLARS In the restoration of this unique gem of history.

The oldest well-preserved example of Chinese medicine in the USA. No joke; it's right in John Day. The history here is so tangible. Bullet holes on the door, altars, bear claws, snake tonics, and even Wheaties. What a cool place! Tours start every hour and only 8 people get in. You must have a tour to actually see the inside of Kam Wah Chung. Come early! It's free. Tours and tickets are handled and the Interpretive Center across the street.
